Plane Strain Problem in Elastically Rigid Finite Plasticity

چکیده
A theory of elastically rigid finite deformation plasticity emphasizing the role of material symmetry is developed. The fields describing lattice rotation, dislocation density, and plastic spin, irrelevant in the case of isotropy, are found to be central to the present framework. A plane strain characteristic theory for anisotropic plasticity is formulated wherein the solutions, as well as the nature of their discontinuities, show remarkable deviation from the classical isotropic slipline theory. keywords. Finite deformation plasticity, elastically rigid deformation, plane strain, anisotropy, slipline theory, strong discontinuities.

An Efficient Strain Based Cylindrical Shell Finite Element
The need for compatibility between degrees of freedom of various elements is a major problem encountered in practice during the modeling of complex structures; the problem is generally solved by an additional rotational degree of freedom [1-3]. This present paper investigates possible improvements to the performances of strain based cylindrical shell finite element [4] by introducing an additio...
متن کاملComparison of two integration schemes for a micropolar plasticity model
Micropolar plasticity provides the capability to carry out post-failure simulations of geo-structures due to microstructural considerations and embedded length scale in its formulation. An essential part of the numerical implementation of a micropolar plasticity model is the integration of the rate constitutive equations. Efficiency and robustness of the implementation hinge on the type of int...
متن کاملPlasticity Effect on Residual Stresses Measurement Using Contour Method
Residual stresses have become an important player in the field of the structural integrity for many years. Having an exact knowledge of residual stress distributions can be essential in designing the engineering components as unexpected failures are inevitable where such stresses are ignored. There are many residual stresses measurement techniques including destructive and non-destructive ones...
متن کاملVersatile analysis of limited plasticity by body force method
A problem of thermally-induced residual stress under plane strain constraint is considered based on a Body Force Method (BFM). As a numerical example, a simple problem of limited plasticity due to a uniform strength of transient line heat source of finite width, which is applied to a surface of a semi-infinite solid for a short duration of time, was considered. Although the out-of-plane compone...

A constitutive multi-laminate based elastic-plastic model developed to be capable of accounting induced anisotropic behavior of granular material such as sand. The fabric feature or grain orientation characteristic effects through medium are considered in a rational way under any complex stress path, including cyclic loading. The salient feature of the developed model is a non-associative on pl...
